We finished second on both Friday and Saturday in pool play. Losing only to the 3rd and 4th seeds overall. Friday we came really close to beating the 4th seed in pool play losing in three. We moved up to 45th on friday and 22 on Saturday. This gave us a chance at a challenge match against the 11th seed to put us in the gold bracket. This was one of the most exciting matches I have ever watched. Crowds from other teams started to gather around our court as we went to a third game. We had some amazing plays during the third game including a one handed dig from Courtney, Alana saving a ball leaning over the crowd, and a solo block from Jordan on their best outside hitter. We ended up losing 19-17 on a great tip by there best hitter. Losing put us in the silver bracket. We won our first two games putting us in the silver finals. The team we are playing against in the finals played terrible in the morning and lost their cross over. They had been ranked 12 all weekend and should have been in the gold bracket. We took them to three but lost our serve recieve and then couldnt catch a break.
For the whole weekend we lost 4 matches, three of them went three games. We lost to top teams from texas, utah, and california. The girls served tough the whole weekend, played great defense, and really stepped up their hitting. It was really unfortunate to lose the last game after such a great weekend, but we ended up second in silver bracket, 18th overall out of 93 15's club teams.
