Each team had their own ups and downs over the Memorial Day Weekend in Seattle, but each team came away better for it, so for me, the tournament was a huge success. Each team in our club was challenged to overcome frustrations, to play as a team unit, to accept defeit graciously but fight until the bitter end of every game. I saw this in every team that NCVBC presented in the tournament. Although the outcomes were not always favorable and sometimes tough to swallow, look at the bigger picture of what was accomplished.
1.The girls played at a higher level than what they started the season at.
2.They competed with more confidence against teams who were just as talented or sometimes even more so, never backing down. This is a huge change in the attitude...a winning attitude continued to evolve this year in our club...awesome!
3. The teams learned to play together through times of inconsistent or down play, but would bounce back the very next game or match to play hard again and not roll over.
5 Teams traveled to Emerald City this year and in their repective divisions we had 4 second place finishes and 1 third! Nicely done girls!!
Anna Chizum from the 15's Premier team was named to the All Tournament Team for 16's Club Division! Congratulations!!
