17's Premier PLAY TO WIN at Emerald
The 17's Premier team came to play this weekend at Emearld!!

I am very proud of this team.  These girls played at a level this weekend that I had not seen.  It was a never die attitude and an all out effort by every one that made this weekend very successful!!

We did start off slow......our first match of the tourney on Saturday we weren't all on the same page....but once we got that out of our system the "TEAM" rose to the challenge and played with heart, enthusiasm and energy that was fun to watch.  We lost our second match but it didnt matter because of how we played so well as a team. The third match we did win playing again solid....so that abled us to keep our #17 seed for the next day.

Sunday the girls kept on playing as a team, having fun, showing excitement, making incredible saves and digs that we ended the day 6-0!!  They were a fun team to watch.  Everyone was "on" and upped their game. We were the top seed of this pool so we again kept our 17th seed.

Moving into Monday and bracket play we were the team to beat. We had the top seed.  We came out and showed everyone why.  Our first match was incredible. It was our best match of the year.  We took the team completely out of their game and never looked back. We won that match 25-15 and 25-8!!!!  The next match if we win we are in the Bronze Championship Final.  It took us a little more to get the win but we did!! We went three and the girls fought hard, played smart and had that never die attitude even when backed against a wall......so we are in the Championship match!!

This match the girls gave it their all but I think they ran out of gas.......we lost in two and finished 18th.

Delaney, Hannah, Courtney, Hailey, Channing, Daniel, Kylee and Bree......I want you to not remember this weekend by our last match. Remember this weekend by what you accomplished as individual players and as a team throughour the weekend.  This weekend is not about the last loss.  Its about how incredible you all played every day, how you came together for your last tournament as a team and most importantly the fun that you had while playing.  THAT is what counts the most.

I want to thank you girls for accepting me as your coach without hesitation.  Thank you for being open to change in the middle of the season and working hard to make it work. I know it wasnt easy.  I really enjoyed coaching each and everyone of you and getting to know you a little bit.  I Wish we would have had more time...  Thank you SOOOO much for the key chain. I LOVE IT!!  Matches my necklace...how clever!!!

To the parents.....thank you for you support of this team throughout the year and for me. Again, I am sure it wasnt easy.  I know there were a few bumps in the road but I do hope that I was able to bring some "FUN" back to the game and postiive memories of NCVBC.

Have a great Summer and see you at the BBQ!!
